MPE09 : Achieving higher quality in breast X-ray imaging
A practical challenge to be solved: How to perform technical quality control in breast cancer screening, including modern image analysis, image processing and image acquisition techniques?
Importance and impact of the training module: The philosophy of technical quality evaluations for mammography equipment in screening must be to ensure the required image quality at an acceptable X-ray dose. We will discuss preliminary and new QC methods to investigate new modalities or techniques like tomosynthesis systems, breast density software, computer assisted detection/diagnosis software and image processing software.
